Jackdaw, 2020, oil and acrylic on canvas, 30 x 40 cm
The jackdaw is common in a lot of European cities, this bird is often confused with the crow, which is a fair bit larger than the jackdaw.
Differences between crows and jackdaws:
Jackdaws are smaller than crows.
Crows are all-black, jackdaws have a grey head and nape. Their black plumage is also ‘dirtier’ than the crow’s.
Jackdaws have white eyes, rather than black.
